Ye (Kanye West)
UI/UX design for the YZY app
At the start of 2024, Ye (the artist formerly known as Kanye West) didn't have full control over his business. His music and clothing were sold through third-party platforms, each with their own fees and rules that cut into his earnings. On top of that, Ye was suspended from Twitter and Instagram, cutting him off from his millions of followers.
I joined a project to create YZY, an app where Ye could release songs and albums, sell his clothing, and connect with fans, all with no intermediaries and in one place. The app was later acquired by the YEEZY company to continue its development.
YZY, with YEEZY style.
Within the project, I was in charge of designing the app's main UIs and features, as well as creating visuals for its promotion on social media.
My prototypes proved key to capturing Ye's interest, which led to me directing the complete design of the app. This also accelerated the acquisition by YEEZY, which came just weeks after the project began.
This is (still)
under construction.
